S•CAB is a family story spanning sixty years of dedication and passion for the world of furniture. It all began in 1957 when S•CAB and its first workshop in Coccaglio, Brescia, initially came to life. In a rapidly changing Italy, where design became a tool for experimentation and economic revival, Francesco Battaglia launched a line of furniture and household items aimed at the rising middle class, who saw their homes as the place to realise their dreams of comfort and well-being. 

From the 1960s onwards, S•CAB refined its focus, specialising in seating. As the product range diversified to meet the needs of residential and outdoor spaces, plastic – the new star of furniture design – became the company’s key area of expertise. Over time, the production facilities were expanded to enable the use of steel, wood and fabrics, catering to the growing demand for customisation in the commercial sector.
